While AZAPO accepts the resignation of Malusi Gigaba as the Home Affairs Minister, we are however disappointed that it took a directive of the Public Protector for President Ramaphosa to ask Gigaba to resign.
AZAPO is almost certain that Gigaba would still be a Minister despite his shenanigans of lying under oath and other embarrassing indiscretions if there was not such an ultimatum by the Public Protector.
AZAPO‘s line of thinking is reinforced by the unfortunate fact that Ramaphosa showed confidence in Minister Bathabile Dlamini by keeping her in the Cabinet despite having lied under oath in the SASA saga. And Dlamini remains a Minister despite lying under oath.
AZAPO is convinced that Ramaphosa lacks the appetite and will to fight corruption and save the country from the rot of State Capture and the mismanagement of the economy. Ramaphosa’s timidness exposes a person who seems to be scared to “cast the first stone”.
AZAPO calls for the resignation or the firing of all corrupt Ministers and public representatives. In the event this does not happen, the electorate must use their votes to punish corrupt political parties and politicians.
