AZAPO EASTERN CAPE STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF ISIKHUKUKAZI UMAMA MIRRIAM STOFILE
23 May 2018
The Azanian People’s Organisation (AZAPO) in the Eastern Cape has learnt with shock of the passing of uMama Mirriam Stofile in the early hours of today.
Mama Stofile is a revolutionary that gave birth and allowed her sons and supported them in their participation in the struggle for National Liberation.
AZAPO sends her condolences to the Stofile family and all those affected by her passing especially the people of Alice where she resided. We find solace in the fact that at the time of her death uThangana, Ukrila, Umambamba had lived to the age of 97.
She belongs to a generation of Izithwalandwe who like many heroines of the black liberation struggle were constantly harassed by the evil system.
AZAPO commits that in honour of uMama and her generation we will continue to strive for a free Socialist Republic of Azania.
As mama Passes away the Auditor General has just announced that our province the Eastern Cape leads the pack of Irregular Expenditure which collectively is at R28.3 bn, a whopping 75 % increase from R16.2bn.
In your honour mama AZAPO will expose all forms of corruption that stands against the values your generation sacrifices for.
We will rebuild our province to be the centre of excellence that gave us upright leaders such as Steve Biko, Ngcobo Nguna, Oliver Tambo, Sabelo Pama, Mpumelelo Washington Bongco and others
